Loneliness among seniors has quietly become one of the most serious public health challenges in America. Millions of older adults spend days — sometimes weeks — without meaningful conversation or connection.
Grand-PALs was created to change that.
Our Grand-PAL's bring joy, conversation, games, and friendship into the lives of seniors who may otherwise spend long periods alone. Whether your loved one lives at home, in an assisted living community, or in subsidized senior housing, a Grand-PAL visit provides something simple but powerful:
Human connection.
At Grand-PALs we believe aging should not mean isolation.
It should mean community, dignity, laughter, and connection.
And sometimes all it takes to change someone’s entire day…
is a Grand-PAL walking through the door.
Loneliness among seniors has quietly become one of the most serious public health challenges in America. Millions of older adults spend days — sometimes weeks — without meaningful conversation or connection.
Grand-PALs was created to change that.
Our Grand-PAL companions bring joy, conversation, games, and friendship into the lives of seniors who may otherwise spend long periods alone. Whether your loved one lives at home, in an assisted living community, or in subsidized senior housing, a Grand-PAL visit provides something simple but powerful:
Human connection.
Every Grand-PAL goes through a thorough selection process before visiting seniors.
Our companions are individuals with a proven track record of responsibility, compassion, and integrity. Many are retired educators, veterans, community leaders, and professionals who want to continue making a difference.
Before becoming a Grand-PAL, each companion must complete:
✔ State Criminal Background Check
✔ Child Abuse Clearance
✔ FBI Fingerprint Clearance
✔ Personal Interview with the Grand-PAL team
✔ Grand-PAL Training Program
This ensures that every person entering a senior’s home or care facility is someone families can trust and seniors can feel comfortable with.
Our Grand-PALs are chosen not just for their qualifications — but for their kindness, patience, and heart for the mission.
Thoughtfully Matched Companionship
At Grand-PALs, we take the responsibility of matching your loved one with the right companion seriously. A Grand-PAL visit is based on personality, interests, and compatibility to ensure a natural, meaningful connection from the very first visit.
We believe the best companionship isn’t chosen from a list—it’s thoughtfully matched with care.
Flexible Visits That Fit Your Family
Families simply choose the visit schedule that works best, and we take care of the rest.
You can select:
• One visits per month
• Weekly visits
• Multiple visits per week
Each visit is centered around joy and connection, including:
• Playing games
• Conversation and storytelling
• Puzzles and card games
• Reading together
• Light walks or shared hobbies
A Program That Works for Everyone
Approved Grand-PAL companions also have the flexibility to choose from open visits available on the platform, allowing them to select times that fit their schedule while ensuring every visit is covered with care.
A Grand-PAL visit is designed to be simple, joyful, and meaningful. Our companions focus entirely on human connection and companionship — not medical care.
When a Grand-PAL arrives for a visit, the goal is to spend quality time doing activities that bring laughter, conversation, and mental stimulation.
Typical visits may include:
• Playing board games or card games
• Working on puzzles together
• Sharing stories and conversation
• Listening to music
• Reading together
• Light walks or enjoying fresh air
• Simple hobbies and activities the senior enjoys
Every Grand-PAL carries a Grand-PAL Game Bag, filled with games and activities designed to make visits engaging and fun.
Most importantly, our companions are there to provide something many seniors are missing:
Someone who genuinely cares about spending time with them.
Even one visit can brighten a senior’s entire week.
Most senior companion services focus on medical-care, supervision, errands, or basic assistance. While those services are needed, they often miss one of the most important needs many seniors have:
Many Grand-PALs are retired individuals who bring decades of life experience with them.
Our companions often include:
• Retired educators
• Retired military members
• Former professionals and business owners
• Community leaders and mentors
These are people who have spent their lives helping others, teaching, leading, and caring for their communities.
Now they bring that same spirit into the homes and communities of seniors who need companionship.
